The iPhone has revolutionized the ability to shoot, edit and share your photographs on one device. For many photographers, both amateur and professional, this integrated process has given them the freedom to experiment both within and across photographic styles.
Bras for Hope was an event sponsored by ‘Belle Mode Intimates’ located in Fairfax Corner in support of Breast Cancer Awareness month. Donated bras were hung on clothes lines across Fairfax Corner. Women who donated bras were given a 20% discount and free Pinkberry coupon for their participation. In the photo below, Miss D.C. shows off the colorful assortment bras.
I had the pleasure last month of photographing the marriage of Becky and Kellie! They live in Florida and came to D.C. for their wedding ceremony. Becky was my neighbor in Woodbridge, VA many years ago; I was delighted when she contacted me to photograph her special day!
The ceremony was held at a wonderful location in DuPont Circle – Marriage D.C. The officiate, Tiffany Newman started her business in March of 2010 when Marriage Equality came to Washington. As a partner in an interracial marriage, she could easily relate to the parallels between the current fight for marriage equality in the GLBT community and that of interracial couples of generations past.
We could not have asked for a more beautiful day. The room was perfect; lots of natural light shined through two beautiful stain glass panels. Becky came prepared with Champaign and glasses; the ceremony ended and we had a lovely toast to their future together.
Becky and Kellie, wishing you a long and happy union.
